Hello friends!
I feel like you've been hearing from me a lot over the last week, so I'm going to keep this one to (silver) bullet points:
About 90% of the HOMESTEAD physical packages have shipped, so keep on eye on your mailboxes! (More on the 10% that haven't in a moment)
All Digital Copies of HOMESTEAD have now been uploaded and delivered via BackerKit! If you didn't get it, drop me a private message through here!
Unfortunately, despite Les Garner doing a very careful job packing the werewolf statues, several of them (and a handful of the mini-busts) got a little too dinged-up for us and Whalebacker (our fulfillment center) to comfortably send them to you. Les is crafting and painting new statues as we speak, and he said they should be at Whalebacker to get out to you in two weeks. We apologize for the delay, but just want to make sure your statues are worthy of your support.
If your package was damaged at all during shipping, please contact Whalebacker directly at [email protected]with the subject line "Homestead Package" -- and please send photos of what was damaged in shipping. I personally know the people who packaged everything, and they do good work, but if something got damaged during shipping, let them know and they'll work with me help make it right for you.
Finally, we would LOVE to hear your reactions to the book... so tag us up on Instagram, Facebook, etc. and let us know, friends! We all put a lot of love into this book, and we hope you love it too!
Thanks all! On behalf of the whole team, we most sincerely appreciate you so very much. Happy reading... and we'll be in touch once those final packages are sent to close-out this campaign soon!

P.S. -- Have you reserved your Kickstarter Exclusive Leatherbound Hardcover Edition of the lost Lon Chaney horror classic LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT adapted by me to comic form with Chaney Entertainment yet? If not, do so now on Kickstarter HERE!

THE WOLVES ARE RUNNING!
Friends... it's happening! I got these photos from the Whalebacker warehouse today!
Keep an eye on your mail boxes... the wolves are on the loose!
A HORROR GRAPHIC NOVEL ALMOST A CENTURY IN THE MAKING!
Now that HOMESTEAD is shipping (and, again, THANK YOU all for your patience while we were waiting on those dang pins to arrive), have you checked out the campaign for LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT: THE OFFICIAL GRAPHIC NOVEL ADAPTATION yet? If not, it's right HERE!
With this latest graphic novel, I've been given the extreme honor of partnering with Chaney Entertainment to bring the long lost 1927 Lon Chaney horror classic back to life as an original graphic novel adapted directly from the film script!
While I'm exceptionally proud of being someone who focuses primarily on original, creator-owned work (like HOMESTEAD, which I absolutely cannot wait for you all to sink your claws into), I cannot stress enough what an honor it is to be entrusted with bringing such a truly iconic horror film back to life as a graphic novel... and I hope that shows with how we're offering a limited edition KS Exclusive Leatherbound Hardcover Edition of the book, as well as what is easily one of the most generous "GIMME EVERYTHING!" pledge levels we've ever assembled in celebration of this special event:
Happy Halloween friends! Happy pledging... and prepare to howl at the moon!

Put a pin in it...and come say "Hi" in New York!

Hello everyone!
I'm currently in the heart of New York City on the verge of New York Comic Con, but I wanted to send you all a quick update on your HOMESTEAD packages.
I was just at the Whalebacker fulfillment warehouse last week and everything is there and ready to go... except the pins. Bah! I know, I know... we're waiting for the smallest item to start shipping the packages (and the digital PDFs), but I've been told they're now en route and should be there next week.
Speaking of the pins, Source Point Press Chief Creative Officer Josh Werner did an AMAZING job designing them, and I don't think I ever showed you all the final design, did I? Here's a peek:
So hairy. So feral. So wonderful. So, yeah, we have to wait a smidge longer, but it'll be worth it, my Wolf Pack friends!
If you included a shirt as part of your pledge, you're going to be REALLY pleased...
None of this tops the book, though. The HOMESTEAD hardcovers and TPBs book look absolutely stunning (see last update), and as soon as those pins come in the packages will begin shipping -- and we'll be sending the digital copies at that time, too. I can't wait for all of you to see the great work Les Garner, Colin Johnson, Dave Lentz, Rau Blackhawk, and Drena Jo joined me with on this book. By hope is that they'll be in your hands for Halloween season despite the pin delay.
NOTE: If you pledges for an original page of art or have a commission from Les, make sure you email him to get the details worked-out with him. The email was included an update or two ago, and he'll be emailing out your original art directly if you pledged for that.
Finally, given that I'm in "The Big Apple" right now, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that, for the first time in years, I'm offering a New York Comic Con Exclusive Comic this year at Artist Alley Table H-8:
If you haven't heard the news, I have the massive honor of adapting the long-lost Lon Chaney classic horror film LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT into a graphic novel in cooperation with Chaney Entertainment and Source Point Press. We've printed 100 special preview comics that are NYCC Exclusive, and we're offering them for sale on a first come/first serve basis starting Thursday at the show before we launch the Kickstarter for the pull 144+ page graphic novel adaptation Tuesday, October 29th at www.LondonAfterMidnightComic.com. Go smash that "Notify Me On Launch" button now not only to get notified the moment we launch so you can get one, but also because LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT: THE OFFICIAL GRAPHIC NOVEL ADAPTATION artist Joshua Ross and editor Drena Jo are going to be joining me on and off throughout the weekend at Artist Alley Table H-8 (as in "HATE!") to sign copies of them as well.
If you're going to the show, swing by. If you know someone else who is going to be there, ask them to get you a copy. If those aren't options, take solace in that any remaining copies will be offered as "first come, first served" add-ons on the LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT Kickstarter.
OK... I said this would be quick, and I'm going too big on this update (I blame being in New York), so I'm out for now. If I won't see you this weekend, rest assured, we'll have a shipping update for you VERY soon!

The wolves are in the house, and that's only half the big news!

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so...
The HOMESTEAD hardcovers and graphic novels have arrived at the warehouse, and they are beautiful!
The pins should be arriving shortly as well (this is one of those rare times when then books arrived BEFORE the pins), and Les will be shipping all the werewolf mini-busts and statues to the warehouse next week... so we should be able to get in the shipping queue pretty quickly after that pending the pins arrive on time.
Aaaaaaaoooooooooow!
Now, speaking of Les, I hope you all don't mind me telling you a quick little story with a helluva punchline.
Many of you may not know this, but less than halfway through illustrating HOMESTEAD Les suffered a major stroke that paralyzed the left side of his body. I found this when he called me one evening to tell me, and I quote:
"Dirk, I'm in the hospital and had a major stroke. It paralyzed the left side of my body, but I'm in the hospital bed drawing pages right now."
As you might imagine -- or at least as I hope you'd imagine -- I immediately told him to stop worrying about the book and instead take the time he needed to recover... and he replied saying something that will live with me for the rest of my life. He said, and again, I quote:
"Dirk, I gotta finish this book, because it may be the last thing I ever do... and it may be my legacy."
He then added this little quip:
"Besides, I'll be fine. It didn't get my drawing hand."
That right there is why I will now forever refer to Les as "The Appalachian Iron Man."
Now, I've admittedly been very stingy about showing all of you pages from this book as to not spoil anything... but what I can tell you is this: Most of the pages you saw are pages Les drew after the stroke. Legit.
Why am I sharing all of this with you now, you ask?
Well, again, a picture is worth a thousand words, so...
Les has not had an absolutely AMAZING recovery, and is drawing more comics than ever these days (and, yes, we plan on doing something else together again soon), but past all of that, tomorrow (as I send this) he's getting married to his sweetheart on their own nice little homestead.
That's why I told him not to worry about sending the statues until next week. He's been a little busy these past few weeks. Heh.
I hope you'll join me in dropping a comment here to wish Les and his soon-to-be beautiful bride -- who stood by him throughout all of this -- a very happy wedding day and a wonderful life ahead together.
Congratulations, Appalachian Iron Man. I'm sorry I can't be there with you two in person to celebrate your special day, but we'll celebrate in person soon.
More updates soon, friends. They wolves are in our house, and they'll be in yours very soon, too! Get ready to howl at the moon...
